About this Course

The EA Modelling for Practitioners training is based on ArchiMate® 3.1 which is an open standard modelling language for Enterprise Architecture.

After attending the EA modeling for Practitioners training, delegates will be able to model a uniform representation of an organisation’s Enterprise Architecture with diagrams that describe, analyse, and visualize the different architecture domains, their relationships, and dependencies in an unambiguous way. Ensuring that stakeholders have a common language of communication to define and understand the concept of architecture change.

ArchiMate® introduces a unique concept for visualising, defining ‘architectural viewpoints,’ that enable enterprise architects to describe different stakeholder interests and concerns. From migration of legacy applications, to consolidation of existing IT infrastructure, ArchiMate® supports cross-domain analysis, direct and indirect impact of change from different architectural viewpoints.

ArchiMate® is designed to support other modeling languages, such as, UML for systems and BPMN for business processes, thereby providing comprehensive and detailed model visualization of your enterprise.

The training materials are based on ATE Enterprises extensive training programs and combines:

  • Formal teaching
  • Interactive discussions
  • Personal and group exercises/quizzes

This course is a 3-day course and is available as classroom-based or a live webinar training.

Course Details:

This course is suitable for learning the principles and how to use the ArchiMate® modelling language as we work through a practical exercises to provide an inclusive architectural modelling experience. Delegates will learn how to apply concepts of ArchiMate® in architecture modelling using a fictitious case study. At the end of the course, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:

  • The structure and underlying principles of the ArchiMate® modelling language
  • Relationships between core and extension concepts in ArchiMate®
  • Standard architectural viewpoints in ArchiMate®
  • How to apply the concepts, relationships, views, and viewpoints
  • How to develop models and adapt the language to suit your architectural context
  • Cover the curriculum for ArchiMate® 3.1 Foundation and Practitioner certifications

The practical modelling sessions to depict and visualize architecture domains, understand high-level thinking in Enterprise Architecture, develop baseline, transition, and target architectures, describe granularity in modelling and best practices in enterprise architecture modelling. Our course package includes an extensive downloadable course ware, relevant whitepapers, practice tests, case study, and modelling exercises.

Benefits include:

The modelling language enhances your architectural visualisation:

Developing an Enterprise Architecture capability within an organization requires a simple and clear format for stakeholders to capture their areas of interest, views and viewpoints of current and future architectures. ArchiMate® is designed to achieve this goal. ArchiMate® complements other modelling languages for systems and processes, such as, UML and BPMN, to provide a comprehensive modelling visualisation and environment for the enterprise.

Enables visibility of your business:

Articulating your Enterprise Architecture comprising high-level views of your processes, products, services, people, infrastructure, and partners facilitates better decision-making providing a view of the impact of change.

Analysis of your architecture:

From migration of legacy applications, to consolidation of existing IT infrastructure, the language supports cross-domain analysis, to fully understand the impact of change on different architectures.
