Using Agile Practices in Enterprise Architecture White Paper
May 16, 2019
ATE Enterprises is delighted to announce the contribution that Aleksander Wyka our Trainer and Principle Enterprise Architect has made to the new white paper ‘Using Agile Practices in Enterprise Architecture’ published by the Open Group yesterday and sponsored by ATE Enterprises.
The white paper shows that companies need both Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Agility. It challenges the opinion that EA and Agile are incompatible and considers a pragmatic approach, based on the authors’ own experience, on how and when EA and Agile practices complement each other.
EA and Agile cannot be mutually exclusive and should be combined for companies to remain competitive.
The white paper highlights the need for a collaborative approach with ‘Agility being important because there is an increasing demand for enterprises… to respond quickly to drivers for change, and to be able to change direction quickly and safely’ on the one hand….. complimented on the other by ‘Enterprise Architecture, focused on the total enterprise structure, strategic direction and business value’ .
The paper offers practical advice for three Enterprise Architecture practice areas:
- Creating Enterprise Architecture artifacts in an agile way
- Engaging the strategic level in an agile way
- Engaging with agile development teams
